District 12
Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) teams qualify for the District 12 playoffs using a point system based on their performance. Here’s how it works:
•Each league win earns a team 10 points.
•Winning a quarterfinal game adds 15 points.
•A semifinal win is worth 20 points.
•Winning the championship game earns 25 points.
At the end of the PCL playoffs, the top team in each classification moves on to play for the District 12 championship (also known as the City Title) against the top team from the Philadelphia Public League in that same classification.
There is an extra opportunity: the second-place team in each class gets a chance to qualify for the state tournament through a play-in game.
Right now, it looks like the 6A City Title spot could be decided in the PCL championship game!
