Weekly Recap 1/15-1/19

This week was a mess with postponements but here are some thoughts and things I picked out from the games that were played!

  • SCH Academy remains unbeaten in the Inter Ac with a 59-57 OT win against Episcopal.

  • Lower Merion hits the 10-0 mark in the Central League.  They have a few challenges down the stretch but it would not be a shock if they finish it out 16-0.

  • Ohara Sophomore guard Tygee Clark has stood out to me the last couple of weeks. I don’t think he played at all in the non league and now Tygee is the third leading scorer behind Ohara’s duo of Burton & McGuinn. Clark is averaging 8.5 PPG in Catholic League play including double digit outputs against Roman (13) and Neumann Goretti (11)!

  • Thomas Sorber is currently sitting at 1200 points exactly. He is only 93 points away from passing Izaiah Brockington as Archbishop Ryans all time leading scorer !

Zane Conlon (2025) from Devon Prep scores 32 against Archbishop Carroll. If I'm not mistaken, that is the record at Devon Prep in a PCL game. In fact I also believe it is the first 30 point PCL performance for Devon!

Jalil Bethea (Wood) and Nick Parisi (LaSalle) went toe to toe both scoring over 30 points. Parisi dropped 33 while Bethea had 36 and took home the victory.

For Nick Parisi and LaSalle it was the first 30+ point performance in a league game since 2013. The last player to do it, Amar Stukes, had a front row seat as he is currently an assistant for LaSalle!

Jalil Bethea having a 30+ point game should be no surprise. This was his 5th in the PCL since last season!

  • 40 Points vs St. Joes Prep - 2/6/23

  • 36 Points vs LaSalle - 1/17/24

  • 31 Points vs Neumann Goretti - 1/16/23

  • 31 Points vs West Catholic - 2/10/23

  • 30 Points vs St. Joes Prep - 2/17/23
